Rustic Boho Decor Tips

Do you like boho decor and rustic style? If your answer is yes, then this article is for you. If you don’t like it, never mind. After reading this blog post, I guarantee, you are going to be a fan😀.

First of all, let’s talk about what rustic style is. According to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, rustic is: 

1: of, relating to, or suitable for the country: rural rustic rolling farmland. 2a: made of the rough limbs of trees rustic furniture. b: finished by rusticating a rustic joint in masonry. 3a: characteristic of or resembling country people.

According to House Beautiful: 

Rustic Is An All-Encompassing Term For Many Different Design Styles. In it’s most basic definition, rustic describes a design that’s natural, rough, aged, and casual, so there are many styles—each drastically different from the other—that can be rustic.

Now we know what rustic is, let’s head to the world of Instagram, which is full of beautiful homes that you can call rustic boho. 

Rustic vibes from Ireland

You probably remember (or don’t) that we used to live in Ireland, so that beautiful island is always a part of my heart. Yvonne – aka @sixat21 – comes from Ireland, and she lives in a gorgeous old cottage on the East coast of the island. It belonged to her husband’s grandparents. 

Yvonne is a massive fan of everything rustic plus she is an avid upcycler who does wonders with old window frames or driftwood which she collects from the beach nearby. She also visits salvage yards and usually finds treasures there. 

Just have a look at her fantastic rustic boho kitchen, it’s quite impressive, isn’t it. Her whole home has cosy/hygge vibes. I would love to visit her home one day. Can I visit you one day, Yvonne? To be honest, I miss Ireland, not the weather though, only in August in Cyprus when our Mediterranean climate is too hot. 😊

Rustic boho vibes from France

My other favourite Instagram page belongs to the lovely Biche – aka @zebodeko – who lives in France. Her gorgeous home is full of beautiful plants. Yes, I do envy you, Biche. I really need more plants in our house, but I’m working on it. 

She says that she is sharing her unstoppable revamp mania on her feed and in her stories. I love her page and her plants and her paintings. I can continue this list forever😊.

Rustic vintage vibes from Austria

Let me introduce you to one of my other favourite (I have so many) Instagram designer/homemaker. She is Manuela Kaplan aka Kuni aka @kunis_lovely_vintage_home from Austria.

Rustic boho vibes from Finland

Let’s continue our rustic boho trip now and head up to North, to Finland. Asta’s – aka @rust_and_frill – home has 100% rustic vibes. 

When I see her home, it reminds me to appreciate vintage furniture and books, old things in general. We shouldn’t forget about our history, our past and elderly either. We should take care of them. They are very important. 💗

Scandinavian rustic boho vibes from Finland

Let’s stay in Finland and visit Irene’s fantastic home because it has those rustic boho vibes spiced up with Scandi decor.  I think rustic style is trendy in Finland, don’t you agree?

Irene’s – aka @rosalitashome – kitchen is so pretty, and you just want to have a cup of coffee and a slice of tasty pie there while reading a good book. It’s 100% hygge, that’s for sure. ☕

Nordic boho rustic vibes from Holland

Marlies – aka @thenordicbohemian – she finds beauty in things that are odd and imperfect. She thinks that they are much more interesting. Marlies, I agree with you 100%. You are so right.

Her kitchen is quite impressive, isn’t it? I especially love the white chair; it looks so comfy and unique. The wooden and woven kitchen accessories, the white wooden cabinets belong to this great Nordic rustic boho “world”. It’s perfection!

Boho rustic vibes from Italy/UK

Susanne – aka @s.u.s.a.p – is a mathematician/associate professor and an avid home designer. She lives in the UK and Italy. Her home is absolutely amazing, just oozes the rustic boho vibes. 

Have a look at her comfy sofa; it is the best place to curl up and read a good book on a rainy day. Believe it or not, but I’m looking forward to having rainy, miserable and cold days in Cyprus. We had far too many hot days on our Mediterranean island already.

Boho rustic vibes from the Netherlands

Back to the Netherlands, to Marijke’s – aka @marijke1212 – home and bathroom are absolutely fantastic. The colours are gorgeous, and the rustic boho vibe is definitely there. 

The perfect combination of modern and rustic. The best from both worlds. We all need some relaxing me time and Marijke’s bathroom, rustic boho sanctuary is the perfect place for it.
