Boho wall decor plays an important part in making your home beautiful. Let’s be honest there’s no bohemian home without it. You just can’t imagine a nicely dressed room without pictures, photos, artworks and mandalas on the wall.
You can ask, “What part of the house should I decorate with wall art?”. The answer is pretty simple: everywhere. From the living room to the bathroom. Why not make your home funkier, bolder and more colourful?
Let’s start with the living room because that’s probably the biggest space in your home. The TOP 5 places in your home where wall art is so important:
1. Living room wall decor
Your boho living room needs some cool wall art so why not to support local, smaller artists and buy some art from them. I was always a big supporter of artists. It’s not easy to be one and instead of buying a cheap copy at IKEA (don’t get me wrong I love that shop too but when it comes to artworks, not the best place to spend your money.)
There are gorgeous paintings, drawings, collages – you name it that you can buy. They are original, they are the real thing so let’s support artists.
Of course, you can also hang macrame, dreamcatcher or plants on your wall. It’s up to you whichever you use. Plants that can clear the air most effectively in your living room and bedroom >>
You can call me biased but I love Lee’s – aka @whatever_happened_to_miss_wolf – beautiful home in Australia and her Nana Nook absolutely rocks. You can’t have too many artworks on your wall, can you? They come in all different shapes and sizes. They are unique because Lee collected them over the years and made her gallery wall fantastic. I also know that Lee loves small artists and supports them too. So a big thank you to her 🙏

Mindy’s – aka @mindy_schroor – home in the Netherlands is absolutely gorgeous and I really love her eclectic nook full of gorgeous paintings and pictures. Such a perfect composition, it’s eclectic and I love how everything matches together.

2. Bedroom wall decor
Thanks to Instagram I saw plenty of beautiful gallery walls that inspired me so much. There are too many pictures on a wall – said no one ever who likes boho design, right? 😊 We just can’t live without them.
I just call it an “artistic mess” on the wall but not in a wrong way. It’s not only paintings, prints or drawing that you can hang on your wall. You can also find beautiful macrame, dreamcatchers, decorative straw baskets and let’s not forget about plants either. You can choose whatever you want because there are no rules.

As Bunny Williams interior designer once said:
If you love something, it will work. That’s the only rule.
Alexandra Felgate – aka @alexandrafelgate – who is an amazing bohemian artist and designer from Australia has one of the most bohemian (is there a word like this in English 😀) bedroom I have ever seen. Just have a look at her boho wall decor: pictures, artworks, plants, Moroccan lamps – you name it. She is a maximalist at heart. 💖

3. Kitchen and dining room wall decor
Kitchens and dining rooms are the souls of your homes. That’s where the food comes from, that’s where we – moms/wives – spend the most of our time so why not make it prettier, cosier.
Even when you do the washing up or cooking (a lot) why not to look at something nice that touches your soul and brings you great memories. I know, it sounds funny but it’s true.

Martine’s – aka @the_spotted_zebra_ – kitchen is a great example of it. Just have a look at those beautiful bits and pieces – macrame plant hangers, gorgeous Moroccan lamps, plants, pictures, wall art – that make her kitchen unique and outstanding. Isn’t it absolutely amazing? 😍 I don’t know what about you but I love its cosy and hygge vibes. Even if you don’t like cooking, you would love to cook there.
4. Kids room wall decor
I wish I had a room like Kim’s – aka @colorful_kimmes – daughters in the Netherlands. What a gorgeous room! It’s full of life and colour. Check out the wall decor in her room: rainbows, fairy lights, flamingo lamp and beautiful wallpaper too. It looks absolutely perfect. Just what a little girl can wish for. 😍

I think it’s important to style your child’s bedroom how they like it. They may not have the perfect taste yet (but what’s perfect anyway) but they have to surround themselves with wall art, small memories, drawings that they like. Not the moms or dads but the kids. Their room has to reflect its own distinctive taste and style.
My IG friend Kim – aka @digandhang – from the US has an adorable daughter whose name is Autumn – my favourite season is autumn 🍂, I know you call it to fall in the US but back to topic – her bedroom is so gorgeous. The flowery, colourful wall art/painting is absolutely adorable. Kim really knows how to make magic when it comes to colours. Her living room gallery wall is beautiful too. Check it out!

Bathroom wall decor
Believe it or not, you can decorate your bathroom wall with cool artworks like Kim – my Insta friend from the US – did. Just check our her bathroom gallery wall, it’s absolutely hilarious, colourful and you wish you can spend more time in there. 😀
It’s full of life and fun. Why a bathroom has to be plain, old boring when you can decorate it too?

I’m also in love with Anna’s – aka @annalysejacobs – bathroom, she lives in London and her home is so stylish and full of beautiful colours. Just check out her bathroom, it’s completely to die for! You know that loo bins can be très chic too, well just have a look at Anna’s little yellow loo bin. 😍

Conclusion:
As you can see your living room, bedroom, kitchen and dining room, kid’s room and bathroom don’t have to be boring. With bold wall decor, you can turn them into boho and eclectic haven. These wall decors tell you a lot about their owners. The colourful, boho, eclectic vibes are everywhere, that’s what makes them so beautiful.
As Albert Hadley interior designer once said:
The decoration is really about creating a quality of life, and a beauty in life that nourished the soul, that makes life beautiful.
Thank you for the amazing pictures to my Instagram friends from around the world ❤️ You rock girls! You know I appreciate your hard work as designers and homemakers.
