How to create a boho style bedroom? Some people might think that it’s so easy to create the perfect bohemian bedroom decor. To be honest it’s not that easy. When I “visit” my Instagram friends’ beautiful boho bedrooms I can see how much heart and soul they put into it. It’s basically an art form to create the perfect boho bedroom.
There are plenty of boho room decor ideas and tip you can use to make a boho decor bedroom in your home. Let’s check out the different bohemian bedroom ideas!
Boho bedding decor
A comfy boho bed plays an important part in our bohemian bedroom. I just can’t imagine a boho bedroom without a huge and cosy bed. Bohemian bed frames are usually made of wood or rattan but I have seen some made of steel too. As longs as it fits your room, it doesn’t matter what kind of material is made of.
You can decorate your boho bed with a lot of layers of throw blankets, boho decorative pillows. As long as they are plush, comfy and colourful, you can use them as decoration in your bedroom.
Boho bedrooms are all about comfiness, soft textiles and bold colours. It’s such a great feeling to snuggle up in your queen bed. I could spend a day in there 😀

Bohemian bedside table
We got the boho bed, let’s not forget about the bohemian bedside table. I’ve just read somewhere on Facebook that some people don’t even know what a bedside table is. Well, in a maximalist boho home you need a bedside table too. Where else can we put our favourite book (books) for bedtime reading and our reading lamp?
I don’t know what about you but I’m a big fan of reading in my comfortable bed before going to sleep. I need to rest my brain cells before I’m going to bed. So I can’t live without my boho bedside table. They can be Moroccan style, rustic, vintage, ethnic style, you name it. Mostly they made of wood, a darker shade would definitely bring some cosiness to your calming “sanctuary”.
Bohemian bedside lamp
Once you got your bohemian bedside table, you will definitely need a bedside lamp too. It’s part of the essential boho decor items in your bedroom. The Moroccan mosaic lamps are really gorgeous but of course, you can go for more traditional lampshades as well.
As long as they are colourful, bold and have warm light, it will create a super cosy atmosphere in your bedroom. There are plenty of gorgeous lamp shades to choose from, it’s just hard to make up your mind and choosing the perfect one.

Bohemian pillows
Let’s not forget about the fluffy and beautiful bohemian pillows. You can basically pick any colour you want. There are really nice pillows and cushions in cream colour or white too. Especially if you like Scandinavian boho, you should go for muted colours because they can be super cosy too.
Of course, there are colourful pillows too which could be perfect for your bedroom. Boho pillows are all about tassels and pom-poms, there’s no minimalist approach when it comes to decorating your bohemian bedroom.
Boho decor curtains
Boho curtains can either be white, cream coloured with delicate patterns, made of lace or go for the colourful option. Small patterns, big patterns or bold patterns, you name it. Whatever pattern or textile you use, you really need curtains in your bohemian bedroom. The more is the better.

Bohemian bedside rug
Another quintessential item in your boho bedroom is a bedside rug or kilim rug. Kilim rugs are tapestry-woven carpets. They are usually made in Iran, Azerbaijan, the Balkans and Central Asia. They are really delicate so you have to be careful not to use vacuum-cleaner on them, only a soft brush.
To be honest I can’t imagine our bedroom without some soft and colourful rugs. They make your room cosier, in the wintertime warmer and more insulated. I love walking on soft carpets since I was a child. What about you? Small pleasures of life. 😀
Boho style wall decor
Boho wall decor is really important when it comes to bohemian home decor. I came across so many beautiful gallery walls in bedrooms. The wall behind your bed is the perfect place to make your own, unique gallery wall. You can put as many pictures, paintings and photos as many you like. The more is the better.
There are many other boho wall decor ideas out there. You can use fairy lights to brighten up your cosy bedroom in the evening. Another great way to decorate your wall is by using boho wall baskets. I’m sure you saw dream catchers before. Well, they are welcome in a boho bedroom too.
There are so many different types of dream catchers. They come in different shapes and sizes, they are usually very colourful. They are protective talismans that are said to help and protect people from bad dreams or even nightmares. In the old days, they used to hang them above cradles and children’s beds to protect them while they sleep.
Macramé play also an important in boho home decor. They can be used as wall art but they are also suitable to use them for hanging plants. You can also decorate lampshades, sofas, curtains, containers or even dreamcatchers with macrame.

Plants in the bedroom
Let’s not forget about plants in your boho bedroom. I saw many beautiful eclectic, bohemian and jungle style bedrooms that were decorated with plenty of beautiful plants. They are not only pretty but make the air cleaner in your bedroom.
